UNFORTUNATELY, OPERATION HOMELINK DOES NOT HAVE AN AVAILABLE INVENTORY OF COMPUTERS AND WE DO NOT ACCEPT INDIVIDUAL OR UNIT REQUESTS FOR COMPUTERS.
Our donated computers are only distributed to those military units or geographic areas designated by the corporation that has donated the computers.
IF YOU WISH TO ACQUIRE COMPUTERS FOR YOUR UNIT, WE SUGGEST CONTACTING THE LARGEST COMPANIES IN YOUR AREA TO ENCOURAGE THEM TO CONTACT US ABOUT DONATING THEIR RETIRED LAPTOP COMPUTERS. (SEE “DONATE” PAGE WITH MINIMUM QUANTITIES AND SPECIFICATIONS –LAPTOP COMPUTERS ONLY).
Regardless of where computers are sent, they are provided to units that are scheduled to deploy overseas in the next 90 days.
While we wish we could provide a computer to all who serve, distributing computers in large batches to one geographic area at a time substantially reduces our shipping costs and thus maximizes the number of families we can support. Due to the small size of our all-volunteer organization, a limited supply requires that we give computers to the families of service personnel on the front end of their deployment period so that the computer can provide a communication link to the family for the longest period of time.
Although recipients are not obligated to do so, families of returning military personnel are encouraged to consider giving their computer to another family whose loved one is about to deploy.
