Supporting Families of Military Personnel Deployed Overseas

Thank You Letters

Acknowledgements from Military Personnel and Their Families

1/13/07 - Thank you for all the support you have shared with the families of the 1744TH Transportation Company soldiers. Communication home is a life line for all soldiers and the computers give some of our soldiers the ability to communicate to their families via email.  This is a huge morale booster for the soldiers and families alike.

-CPT Justin Jennings, 1744TH TC Commander , ILL National Guard

8/25/06 - This is a wonderful program and I appreciate all your time and hard work put into this effort to keep the communication alive when our loved ones are so far from home.

Thank You!

-Lindsey Carvel, Fort Drum, NY

3/7/06 - It brings me no small measure of comfort in knowing our families are being so generously taken care of by our fellow Americans. These champions of our military families can and should be justifiably proud to stand in the ranks of so many who have faithfully, diligently, and steadfastly supported our Soldiers and their loved ones. To be sure, the task at hand is both dangerous and difficult, but with their continued support and God’s grace, we will endure and overcome all of our challenges.

Hooah!

--Lieutenant Colonel (P) Donald G.Fryc, Battalion Commander, 2-44th Air Defense Artillery currently serving in Balad, Iraq

11/1/05 - Thank you Operation Homelink.  My husband deployed for his 2nd tour to Iraq in January and I was 2 months pregnant when he left.  He couldn't make it home for the birth of our daughter in June, but after I received this computer, I was able to send him pictures!  It has made this year SO MUCH easier!  Through Operation Homelink, computers are making their way to families like mine so we can stay in touch with our loved ones.  It truly is a Blessing.

-Kim McFarlan - Ft. Stewart, Georgia

7/27/05 - On behalf of those who have received PC's through your organization, I thank you. I think it is wonderful that you are doing this. It boosted my pride in america even that much more. Thank you and God bless!

Shana Greer Letter

Letter from Shana Greer, 7/7/04
- The words "Thank you" seems so light about now. I cannot express to you the depth of my gratitude for your efforts and diligence in organizing Operation Homelink. As a former member of the United States Air Force, it is inspiring to see and feel the support your organization offers to the families and to the soldiers who are so willing to defend the freedom of every American in this country. 3/15/05 - I want to say thank you for your support and efforts you have made to keep our country proud of our military. There are many people in our great land who is against what we do but because of people like you we can continue to do what our country has called us to do.

I have troops who are there right now and I haven't been back home for that long so I know the struggles they are going through and things like this makes a world of difference.

Again, thank you and God bless.

-TSgt Tim Lewallen, Barrier Maintenance Section, 3 CES/CEOIP, Elmendorf AFB, AK

It just warms my heart to hear of the things you are doing to help our military families. I just can't thank you enough. There are times where all the separations and loss seem as though it will literally break your heart..The kindness of others is very bright light in what is sometimes an overwhelming darkness.

-Autumn Parker, Wife of Jerry Parker, 5th Special Forces Group

I would love to thank Operation Homelink for the computer - it is wonderful! I could say thank you a million times and it would never be enough. God Bless you great people for making our lives so much better.
It feels so good to know the support we have even here at home.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

-Barbara Wilson - Wife of Sgt Martin Wilson stationed in Iraq

I would like to thank you for the computer I have received. My Husband, SGT. Chris Gier D. Co. 140th Aviation, really appreciate it. I know that the computer helped us stay in contact while he was deployed in Bagram, Afghanistan. I was able to send him pictures of our daughter so he could watch her grow. She
was only 2 months old when he left, so I know pictures helped.

Your service is a great reminder that American people do stick together. I am not sure what we would
have done to communicate without the help of your organization. The phone calls were so few & far between, you never knew when it would come.

I would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being able to keep our family in contact.

-The Gier Family - SGT. Christopher Gier, Mary, & our daughter Savannah

I would like to say that I think I speak for every deployed soldier and their families waiting back home when
I say that what you guys are doing is a very good thing spiritually, physically, and patriotically, and that it is
an honor to know that there are people out there that are doing these things for our nations heroes.

Thank you very much for everything!

-Joey Janowski, Son of service member deployed in Afghanistan

"I think that the concept of your program is excellent. Until you are on this side of the equation, you have no true idea how important and valued any communication with your loved one in a combat area is. A call, an email, a letter these are things that make your days, weeks, months and sometimes it is a month or more between those contacts. It is also about facilitating family and friends better keeping together in a time of stress.

Please express this father's sincere appreciation to the companies that support this program. And if you want to go a step further, encourage them to visit some of the families that Operation Homelink has served and acquire a personal perspective. I know that my light is always on and there is an open invitation here. God Bless Our Troops and their Families, and Semper Fidelis."

-Dennis K. Benson, Worthington, OH

"Thank you for your outstanding work and dedication to the service members abroad. It is people like you that we cherish and defend our country for!"

-Petty Officer Third Class Lindel Lair, U.S. Naval Reserve Force, U.S. Naval Station/ Rota, Spain

"I would like to personally thank you and say GOD BLESS YOU for what you are doing for our soldiers. This INVALUABLE gift from you will make this year or more of separation from families A LOT easier to bear."

-SGT. Michael Baney, Det 6, STARC, Illinois Army National Guard

"Operation Homelink™ is an excellent program for families of deployed military. My family received a computer in just a few weeks. Our computer was in good working order and the setup was simple. I just plugged it in, turned it on and all kinds of icons were displayed on the computer screen. Everything I needed to access the Internet and start emailing my soldier was available immediately. Now I have quick and easy communication with my soldier. My soldier was happy to learn about the support Operation Homelink™ has provided us. It’s nice to know that we are supported and not forgotten. Thank you, Operation Homelink™, for your continued support."

-Mrs. Edith Avila, proud Army wife (Edith’s husband, Jaime Avila, is currently in Iraq with the 933rd Military Police unit out of Chicago)

"Operation Homelink™ is a blessing, because it used to take more than a month for my letters to reach my son. Keeping in touch with my son gives me hope and encouragement during his time away and the knowledge that we can now connect within just a few minutes is very comforting."

-Ms. Denise Killingsworth (Denise’s son, Army Specialist Robert Pumphrey, is currently in Iraq)

"The impact that Operation Homelink™ is having is immense. It depicts the true meaning of VOLUNTEERISM. Communication is the key to success and Operation Homelink™ has enabled our military families to keep in touch with their service member when it was not an opportunity before. The generosity of this organization and its creator astounds me."

-Lieutenant Jennifer M. Fallert, 1st Lieutenant, AG, IL Army Reserve National Guard, State Family Program Coordinator

"Programs like Operation Homelink™ help families cope by providing better communication and stability. Letters are fine, but people want everything instantly. If a soldier checks his email everyday, every other day or once a week, he can respond instantly. It keeps families more in touch."

-Retired Master Sergeant Victoria Coleman, IL Army Reserve National Guard, Family Program Coordinator, 933rd Military Police Unit in Chicago (currently stationed in Iraq)

"In support of those defending freedom, Operation Home Link from concept to reality was made possible through the hard work of dedicated volunteers. The USO is honored to refer our military personnel and their families here in Illinois to this needed and
appreciated service of providing computers in order to keep in touch with family and friends."

-Lisa Moeller, Executive Director USO of Illinois

Thank you so very much for my computer. I'm really enjoying it. I've already sent two birthday cards to my
son for his birthday coming up. But I really owe you all a thank you for helping me be in touch with my son.
It means a lot to me. And I'm also in touch with Sue Warneke, my support person. She helped me a lot.

God Bless You All. And Thanks For Everything.

Sincerely,
Ellen Collalti
